Bracelet Created by Maya Levine Age 8
Home
Welcome!
My name is Jennifer Levine and welcome to my journey through the Masters of Education program at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT). I started this program over 3 years ago and in order to complete my graduate degree I have chosen to document my experiences and understandings in this Digital Portfolio.
According to the Oxford Dictionary a portfolio is "a set of pieces of creative work intended to demonstrate a person’s ability"1 . This portfolio will display a comprehensive collection of artifacts derived from my courses within the M.Ed program . It will demonstrate my understanding of how the theoretical underpinnings relate to the courses I chose and how these reflect my journey towards self discovery and professional advancement.
The bracelet shown in the above picture was created by my 8 year old daughter Maya. I asked Maya to create a picture or object that symbolized items that work together, Maya chose to make this bracelet. This bracelet was made through a series of interconnected circles, each circle reliant on the other to maintain the overall structure. In my opinion, this is a perfect visual representation of my program. Each of my courses are like these circles. They are all interconnected, each building upon the knowledge of the other and reliant on each other to support the structure of the program.
Throughout the program I was able to take many courses that exposed me to many different perspectives relating to technology and education. As a result the following are three themes that have emerged: Educational Theory, Learning and Technology and Collaboration.
I invite you to enter my website and learn more about how these themes have effected my learning experience and my future aspirations.
I welcome your comments and insights, you can contact me by pressing the "contact" tab.
Thanks,
Jennifer Levine
